This performance to video explores the less spoken about psychology of humanity. Through gesture, sound and costume a narrative about isolation, loss and separation is explored.

Mum and Dad takes the viewer on a journey between child and parent. Touching on topics of developmental psychology and the development of attitude around the experience of connection.

Using a simple shot of my head in frame speaking and repeating the words of Mum and Dad through various age and stages using recall and improvised performance.

Identity itself is not an easy subject it has a weight to bear and can first be split into two fairly obvious categories one being personal and the other being social. In this project I explore digesting ones own façade, constructed by a need for external narratives.  The performance reflects the sickly repulsion of the artificial and fake and the tradgerty of the loss of the authentic self.
